Dr. Sarah Gautreaux is a New Orleans girl through and through. She was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and attended Grace King High School. For her undergraduate, she attended University of New Orleans. After building a successful property management and brokerage firm, Dr. Sarah decided to go back to school and pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian. Dr. Sarah once again returned to the wonderful University of New Orleans for the prerequisites required for admission to veterinary school. She then attended Louisiana State University of Veterinary Medicine and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. Dr. Sarah is thrilled to be joining the Pet Care Center family and as a veterinarian, her special interests are emergency and critical care surgery, integrative medicine, and endocrinology. She also likes to volunteer her time helping shelter animals in need.
Dr. Sarah resides in Lakeview with her girlfriend Jeanne, and her sons William, Preston, and Dylan. Her family also includes a border collie named Bailey, two LASPCA adoptees, Raffie (a Heinz 57 mutt) Truffle (a three legged black lab), five rescue kitties, Sophie, Frank, Debbie, Grace, and Spotlight and a rescue snake named Fluffy. When she’s not at the hospital Dr. Sarah enjoys traveling. Photography, biking around town, and discovering neighborhood restaurants and bars and riding horses. She also loves outdoor music festivals, especially the Jazz Fest, and New Orleans City Park. Dr. Sarah is a member of American Veterinary Medical Association and Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association.
