Dr. Erica Capshaw Brooks proudly serves at our Metairie location.
After growing up in New Orleans and graduating from the Academy of the Sacred Heart, Dr. Erica attended Louisiana State University and received her Bachelor of Science degree in animal science. She continued her studies at LSU, receiving her Master of Science degree in Equine Endocrinology in 2000 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Her areas of interest include dermatology, endocrinology and internal medicine. Her particular area of interest is in atopy (inhalant allergy) and food allergy of dogs and cats.
She enjoys helping relieving pets of the discomfort from itchy skin, by allergy testing and treating their underlying skin disease. Dr. Erica still resides in uptown New Orleans with her husband Clay, son William, and her daughter Ellis, a Shih-Tzu named Ting-Ting and a Standard Poodle named Tayho. William, a budding animal enthusiast himself, has added a red-footed tortoise, a bearded dragon, and an assortment of fish to the household. Dr. Erica is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association.
